Employee elections for the Economic and Social Committee (ESC) and the Audencia Consular Institution of Higher Education’s (EESC Audencia) board of directors
These two elections, which were held via electronic voting, demonstrated the employees’ deep commitment and strong desire to defend both the interests of their company and that of their colleagues. It underlines the importance of dialogue between management and labour which everyone at Audencia cares about and is committed to maintaining.
The first election of staff representatives for the Consular Institution of Higher Education’s (EESC) board of directors was organised on 1 January 2018. It was held in February 2018 and was marked by a high level of employee engagement in terms of both voting and people running. It included six lists of candidates: four for teachers and two for administrative staff. Three permanent employees, three temporary employees, an ESC representative and a student now sit on Audencia’s board of directors. “We wanted to support our employees in their new role and prepare them to act as directors with a three-day training course in January 2019, which will allow them to equally understand the legal, fiscal and financial obligations related to the role of director as well as the position of a salaried director of a company,” says Delphine Lambert.
In May 2018, Audencia was one of the first companies in the Loire-Atlantique to organise an election for the Economic and Social Committee with a single body installed in June according to the new rules enacted by the legislator. “Since the institution has more than 300 employees, we are obliged within the ESC to have a committee on health, safety and working conditions,” points out Delphine Lambert. “It is the equivalent of the CHSCT (comité d’hygiène, de sécurité et des conditions de travail), which also meets every 3 months and has similar prerogatives.”
