Major property development projects launched!
The Atlantic Campus site has been redesigned with a philosophy of co-creation allowing students, teachers and employees to imagine the layout of their living and working space. “This new learning environment, which is deliberately designed to be open, flexible and connected, will foster multicultural interactions and personal development and will systematically integrate new technologies into its design with the intention of making the organisation more agile,” confirms José Maciel. “In keeping with its values, the school will focus on a broad CSR strategy within the Atlantic Campus in terms of energy consumption, business efficiency, ergonomics and well-being.”
In early 2020, the expanded campus will once again accommodate all the activities and staff, which have been relocated since 2014, in the Executive Education building. Student associations will have a full floor to themselves, which is an area three times larger than their current offices. This new space will be managed according to ‘flex-office’ principles. Flex office is a new form of organisation that suits the working environment of tomorrow with shared, flexible and connected work spaces. Two floors will be dedicated to programme departments responsible for standard higher education as well as to support departments. “To show consideration for all employees, each will have their own personal space which will be designed to promote an interdisciplinary approach and collaboration. Spaces dedicated to workstations and meeting rooms will thus coexist with spaces devoted to creativity, brainstorming, more informal exchanges and relaxation,” explains José Maciel. There is one floor with a purposely innovative design dedicated to activities involving companies. “The design creates a crossroads between digital technology and nature and presents the inversion of heaven and earth symbolising the questioning of our perspective and beliefs,” he adds. “Warm and friendly spaces equipped with a cafeteria service will be provided on each floor. Lastly, the amphitheatres, which will be completed in mid-2019, have been redesigned in the form of open spaces with a total surface area of 300 m² and are now open to natural light. They are modular to accommodate classes but can also be used as a place for students to exchange ideas.”
